thought out my reasearch i have gain knowledge to understand the common conventions on a r&b video.
usualy the are a narrative/ performance videos this shows the image of the artist which is a common conventions on how r&b music sells though the image this goes with the goodwins theory where he claims image sells the music. this image is sold though the use of close up ands mise en scene thought the clothing and edits.
the narritive side of the video also has a link betweens the lrics and visuals and how the illistrate this and make it directy happen on scene what the lyricsn say. locations, custome and lighting i find are key ways into attracting a audience.
the performance shows teh aritsts other talents such as dancing is a common conventions which again can attract a bigger audience though these other talents.
